Performance Coaching
Charlie’s experience in coaching extends across a wide range of performance environments including business sport and the military. From an individual perspective he works with executives and senior leaders to address areas of competency, motivation and confidence that arise from their leadership challenges. From an organisational perspective Charlie has worked closely with private and public sector organisations to develop bespoke, sustainable coaching initiatives.
Team Development
Given that individuals perform largely as a function of their environment, Charlie’ approach to developing elite teams starts by establishing how the team develop their vision, establish their strategy, make their decisions, allocate their roles, share their leadership and how they challenge and support one another. In addition, Charlie places emphasis on recognising how these dynamics change when the team is stress-tested. This provides an opportunity to develop strategies for maintaining the integrity of the team during periods of great pressure. The Lane4 High Performing Teams framework is powerful diagnostic tool in this process, allowing team performance to be broken down into meaningful criteria that the team can act on and measure over time in order to reinforce their progression. Charlie also has specialist knowledge in Psychological Momentum – a concept that maximises positive momentum and minimises negative interference around key events.
Resilience & Leadership Development
Charlie believes that elements of resilience and leadership go hand-in-hand and has used this as an effective approach to helping leaders recognise for themselves not just “what they need to do” but also “how they need to be”. This has also been linked to the capacity to deal effectively with pressure – a vital ingredient for creating willing followers. This was an approach that Charlie developed as a front-line commander in the military and has helped leaders apply effectively within business. Charlie has designed and delivered resilience and leadership programmes across a range of industries and his passion and expertise for this subject has allowed him to have a significant impact on bottom-line performance.
